The mass was presumed to be arising from the left adrenal gland on a CT scan of the adrenal glands. Thus, a thorough workup ensued, looking into the possible functionality of the lesion. All investigations resulted in the negative. Subsequently, the patient was referred for surgery to fully characterise the tumour. Histology proved that the lesion was a benign retroperitoneal schwannoma with no relation to the adrenal gland.
